Travel Baseball Information

CICB Travel Baseball

Travel Baseball requires dedicated time and commitment from players, coaches and parents, from April through July and possibly early August. Every player’s presence is important and the player is expected to make every effort to attend all practices, league games, and tournament games. All players must live within the Cambridge-Isanti School district boundaries or attend school in the Cambridge-Isanti district. All players interested in travel must tryout for their appropriate age level team.

Practices

Players are expected to attend all practices. Once teams are formed, practices will commence. Players can expect to participate in three-four practices a week prior to the first game. After games begin, players can still expect to attend one-three practices per week depending on game schedule.

Regular Season Games (May-June)

Traveling players play in the Gopher State Baseball League. The majority of games are held on Monday through Thursday, but some games might be scheduled Friday through Sunday due to field availability. A typical game starts at 6-6:30 pm, and players generally show up 45-60 minutes before the game. Coaches, Players and Parents will be asked to clean up the field at the scheduled home games.

Playoff Games (July)

Each travel team will participate in end of the season playoff games. These games start the week after the 4th of July and can go for 3 weeks, with one game a week and practices in between. If you win the first week you continue playing, if you lose the first week, your team is done.

Tournaments (May-July)

Travel Teams are scheduled to participate in up to two-three tournaments. These tournaments are included in the traveling fees. Teams may pick up additional tournaments at their own expense (at around $40 per player). Teams can earn an automatic berth into the State Tournament. State Tournaments and other post season play occur throughout the month of July and possibly early August.

Number of Teams

The CICB Travel Baseball Committee will determine how many teams are formed. The decision is based upon number of players and/or the availability of coaches. Uniform All Travel players must purchase their own jersey, pant(s), belt, and socks which can be used in subsequent seasons.

Volunteer Fee

A $200 per family volunteer deposit for "10AA, 11AA, 12AA, 13AA & 14AA" travel players will be required once your player makes the team. It will be returned to you once you volunteer at ONE of our home tournaments for 4 hours. This person can be your player, older sibling or a parent. The two tournaments to volunteer at will be the in-house tournament, June 26-28, 2026 or the 13AA state tournament, July 10-12, 2025. We realize that our travel teams don't participate in the inhouse tournament, but we wanted to give another volunteer option if the weekend of July 10-12 doesn't work. We also realize that not all teams get to play in the July state tournament this year, but when you host a tournament your team gets a berth into playing the tournament. Last year our now 14U got to play and this year our new 13U AA team will get to play and then it will continue going as your younger travel players move up. This is a great fundraiser for our program and we need all hands on deck for help. Being able to have these tournaments only benefits your child, our association and the community. We appreciate your help on this.
